Our Team

Don and Karen Blue became Funeral Directors because they wanted to make a difference. Their experience as business owners, as well as in senior management roles, has laid a solid foundation for what they can offer families. Karen has worked in the tertiary education sector managing Graduation ceremonies, while Don’s experience is in Engineering. The feedback from families suggests their empathy combines well with their organisational skills to help families work through challenging times.

Bill Atchison

Bill Atchison is well known in the Grenfell and Young communities and has been with Penrose Funerals for over 10 years following a career in the NSW Ambulance. As is often the case in a small business, Bill wears many hats. He can be seen setting up for a funeral in the morning, only to be followed by a quick ‘superman’ change into his suit; greeting guests as they sign the memorial book at a funeral service.

Georgia Corbett

Georgia Corbett is the newest member of the Penrose team, and it's likely her friendly voice will greet you when you telephone us or call in. Georgia is a local girl who has just finished her secondary education at Hennessy Catholic College in Young. Georgia is motivated and passionate when it comes to helping people in the local community. She is excited to be learning new skills as she completes her Certificate III in Business.

Trevor Duggan

Trevor Duggan joined the Penrose Funerals team in 2015. Trevor grew up in Young (Tubbul actually) and until recently, he operated his own business. Variety is the spice of life and Trevor’s role at Penrose Funerals certainly has that. “I just love that every day offers something different,” he said.

Annette Parr

Annette Parr moved with her husband David, to Young about four years ago. Their daughter lives here and they love the relaxed, country lifestyle. Primarily, Annette works with Penrose Funerals as a funeral celebrant; offering customised services that appropriately reflect individual values and beliefs. Annette offers a calmness which many families appreciate during what can be a very challenging time and we are lucky to have her as part of our team.

Janelle Eastlake

Janelle Eastlake moved to the area in 2008 to be involved in the family cherry orchard. Originally from Melbourne, she finds the country lifestyle very appealing. After having her two children, Janelle was looking for a new career that allowed her to make a difference and really help people. This led to her joining the team at Penrose Funerals. Janelle is involved with meeting with families and making arrangements to conduct funerals - a role she finds most rewarding.

We all love what we do and are excited about the future and the service we can provide. We believe we are continually learning and that the changing face of the funeral industry will continue to allow families a much more active role in creating a memorable experience for their loved one. It is a privilege for us to assist.
